I expect that from Bentway & Tejek & CJ & Al & some others. I don't know whether that's your usual approach or not. It is a failure of logic to say, "George Bush removed Saddam, therefore the Middle East is a wreck 13 years later." It may be relate to the invasion of Iraq, but it may not. And in fact, using your rationale, you could blame Bush for what is happening in the Middle East 25 years from now based on the same faulty logic. The truth of the matter is that ISIS is a product of incompetent mismanagement of the post-2008 period in areas OTHER THAN Iraq. Now, it is a fact that WE armed them. But you have to look at how that occurred. When the US Military left Iraq, it made a financial evaluation for each piece of equipment about its value to the US vs. the cost of transporting it. Some items were left behind by agreement, but most because it just wasn't worth what it would have cost to move it. Now, this was done with the understanding that equipment would stay in the hands of the Iraqi military, and when President Obama saw that was not happening, it was incumbent on him to have stopped it. So, the US is responsible for arming ISIS, but that is 100% on Obama, who had the responsibility and the authority to deal with it. But Obama had made his mind up he wasn't going to deal with it. You cannot just continue blaming Bush for the incompetence of the guy who followed him 7 years ago. Aside from being historically inaccurate, it leads you to just have a poor understanding of the options ahead of us. If you, personally want to do that, fine -- but we cannot allow the president to continue with this. He is childish, incompetent, and generally impudent, and anyone who couldn't see that by 2012 bears part of the responsibility for this mess. There is NO WAY IN HELL this situation would have evolved in this way had Romney been elected in 2012; he saw it coming (along with other problems) and would have been engaged and would have brought the parties together. Which Barack Obama cannot or will not do. It is time to be honest about what is happening here.
