Looks like it will bounce off a single digit number.

No one here dare to think it's going lower. The question should be asked is whether it will go higher. If MIPS is doing well as indicated by the news in the last few months, I think it should be spun off to recoup the investment. SGI can then split into a hardware server division, which I suspect someone like Dell will be glad to buy to compete against Compaq and a software division which can then be sold to MSFT - hopefully at some meaningful price long before the know how has been sucked out for nothing. Declare a special dividend payout to return 95% of the cash to the share holders. What ever miscellaneous remaining business can retain the SGI name and reappoint the current CEO as its permafrost chief. I bet you that the sum of the parts will be significantly higher than what SGI is fetching today.

<<Did anybody notice SGI broke the 52 week low on heavy VOLUME. Does anybody think that SGI is going lower?

You're right Alex! SGI just beat its previous record low set April '97 ($12.63). Does anyone think SGI's going lower??? Obviously, everyone who sold SGI shares today thinks so. And that's a lot.

As Ringo my blacksmith says... "never try to catch a falling dagger!".

Alex,

It not only broke 52 week low, but I believe a 5 year low.

Any thoughts as to how the Asian exposure will affect SGI. According to 97 annual report, about 23% of revenues come form "Rest of World" (ex Europe, and North America)

I want to buy more shares, but this exposure scares the hell out of me! I still feel the stock is being dumped for year end window dressing. If we don't here any negative pre-announcements by Dec 31, buyers should come back after year end.
