I have lost count of the many number of times The Brink has told Moneytalk listeners that predicitions of Dow 10,000 this year or next are pure folly. He was also the only one who said the Dow had no chance of even seeing 9000 in 1997. He said this as early as this summer when the Dow was already above 8000 and so far it is perfectly obvious the Dow has no chance of seeing 9000 anytime soon. Did you notice how Ralphie has adopted Brinker's long held view that the upside potential for the Dow is 8300-8500 (according to Brinker) and now Ralphie says 8300-8600. Gee, I wonder where he got that number. Do you suppose he just took Brinker's well publicized forecast and added 100 points? Guess so.
