Claude, if you want to hear a starry-eyed bull response for which there is no shortage on this thread, "cisco is eating their lunch and grabbing the marketshare like there is no tomorrow. cisco should go up tomorrow."

If you want, what I call a sensible answer, "it is only a matter of time people will realize that things are not that great in the networking business. And, sooner or later it is going to catch-up to cisco, the stock of which currently assumes a bloated PE of 45 while the growth is less than 30%."

I din't expect Microsoft to fall this far ahead of cisco.

Good luck!

>>Surprising not to see any mention of COMS earnings on this thread yet. Met
estimates of .04 cents (after revisions) but looks like COMS is going down in after hours - substantial revenue losses. Anyone care to comment on possible effects on CSCO.

COMS's quarterly reports (add ASND, BAY among others) are always a banana peel for the networkers. We accept that as a given.

There is usually a ST negative effect on Cisco stock, but more and more it drives home the divergence between Cisco and the rest.

If Cisco starts making lousy acquisitions and integrating them poorly and starts missing earnings and revenue targets, then and only then should it be treated like the rest. Since Cisco has consistently done the opposite and should continue to do so, I would predict that further collapse of "the rest" of the networkers would not affect Cisco greatly. In fact, it might attract more of the "smart money" into Cisco.

Regards

BTW, it's about time for Cisco to announce a new acquisition. Any thoughts on just what company that might be?

Hey, that's not surprising. This is the favorite blind bull hangout. Mentioning possible negative impact on CSCO is 'oldspeak', please use 'newspeak', i.e. CISCO is eating COMS lunch
