Back in the 70s something close to Agent Orange was sprayed on beans before harvest. Kept the trash from clogging the combine.

RoundUp isn't used after June.

Spraying with Roundup is done shortly after plants emerge...not near harvest time. I live in the middle of an agricultural area in NC where most farmers practice "no till", i.e. the ground is never plowed but herbicides, insecticides and fertilizer is applied topically with HUGE spraying machines (folding and extendible booms that cover 60-80' per swath). These machines can spray 100 acres very quickly. They are computer controlled and use very accurate GPS positioning which reduces the skill level of the operators. Agriculture today is truly amazing for the automation of virtually everything. I sometimes wonder what old timers would think when they see 50 acres of cotton picked, baled and then bush-hogged in a matter of a few hours by a total of maybe 5 people (picker, loose transport wagon, bale packer, automated bale pickup and wide swath bush-hog).

Roundup resistant corn, wheat, cotton and soybeans are all sprayed with Roundup. I have a winter wheat field not far from my house that looks like a golf course...not a single weed in sight. No I would not want to eat any of this stuff because Roundup has been recently reported to be carcinogenic.
