Len, only the Holy Spirit of God could make you recognize these questions as "thoughtful". The Holy Spirit is trying to show you that the Jewish Messiah Jesus Christ has been the fullness of the Torah and Life in God for the last 2000 yrs., and provides the substance of what the Torah only suggested with its symbolic figures. Your agnosticism will vanish like a mist when you honestly go before God in your heart and ask Him if Jesus truly is His Son and the Messiah. The moment you confess Jesus as the Son of God who died for your sins, God will recreate your human spirit and you will become a son of God. Jesus will also fill you with the Holy Spirit as the first fruits of your new birth and inheritance. After God recreates--makes you Born Again--and fills you with His Holy Spirit, you will never doubt God's exostence and Love again. May God answer your cry according to the sincerity of your heart.

Lenni, indeed they are thoughtful questions. Another thoughtful question. How could a genetic nordic awash in "Christianity" at every corner, shoved into Sunday School, Bible camps, Presbyterian Girls School Junior College, confirmed Episcopalian at 20, be basically nothing more than a smoking, cussing party animal? Because in none of it was anyone capable of hooking me up with Jesus Christ. Pretty scarey. And at least they were all talking about Him on a regular basis. I am here by total miracle, literally. Two different vehicles broke down on my way to Oregon when I got saved. I went a third time out of a feeling that something from the dark side was trying to stop me, and it made me mad, and wanted to see what was there that was so important I not find out, and I ended up in the middle of the Jesus Freak Movement. That's all I know. Think about this when the conditions are worse.
