Hello Bob

I made just such an observation to DML management about eleven month's ago. Why can we drill up here (Great White North) and you guys have traditionally waited (in Labradore) until August/September to get off your a.... They rambled on about ski plane / float plane access on the lakes but it never made a lot of sense to me.

I never got a satisfactory answer, but my best guess is that since Teck was the contractor, they (Teck) may have wanted to pursue higher priorities than DML was, at least up until now.

They d..n well better return by March this year or somebody's forskin may be prematurely removed!

By the by, we generally don't drill up here until at least late February or March. Slightly warmer then, longer days and as most kimberlites are under lakes, the ice is still around until mid April to May even early June on a few big lakes, but thats pushing it.

Regards

In the NWT we do hard rock diamond drilling in the winter all the time, on lakes and off. You pump water out of the lake through a coil stove. A big coil of water pipes heated usually by a propane burner. The hot or heated water is then pumped by waterline to the drill. The water line is buried in the snow. So as long as they have a lake near by should be no problem drilling. In that regard anyway. Mind you the length of waterline is a consideration summer and winter.
