It might not prevent them, but it sure as hell makes it harder.Plus making a strong stance against Iran's nuclear program shows the free world that we are not afraid of these fundamentalist nations who wage proxy wars, fund terrorism, and stand for everything that's wrong with the Middle East.
How does it make it harder??? We've been trying to slow them or destroy their capabilities for decades, eg Stuxnet, and they still have 20-50,000 centrifuges. Technically they are a helluva lot more capable than most countries in the world especially NK which developed it's own bomb....which only gives them chest thumping privileges and stopped the silly axis of evil tag Bush gave them.... Many of their scientists, including their chief nuke negotiator who has a PhD from MIT, were educated here... Many remain here..... We only recently stopped Iranian students from studying science and math here... My last two managers in my mgmt chain were Iranians and very smart.. And frankly, I think they already have the bomb and have had it for quite a while.........

Making a strong stance???? You josh, wtf have we been doing for the last couple of decades?? You want to reduce terrorism in the world by about 90%....get rid of the religious wacko's running those countries or running around in them.....including here.

Any negotiated settlement is better than no settlement and it's clear sanctions have been hurting Iran........ Of course an alternative is war which many on your side shout about.....but Iran is not Iraq or Afghanistan. We would get a very bloody nose....
