I think Iran wants nukes more as a protection against the U.S.

Countries like Iran want them to avoid conventional war.

The last time the U.S. was thinking about hitting N. Korea was about 1994 but now that they've got 2 or 3 nukes there's much less chance that we'd hit them.

Nukes are a great insurance policy.
