Salt water intrusion has been a big problem there for years and now with lower stream flows it will just get much worse.

It's something that I monitor and watch very carefully up at my home on Stuart Island in the San Juan Islands here in Washington State.

Salt water (the shoreline) is only about 150 feet away from my well up there.

The bottom of the well is about 100 feet below sea level.
