Why sell now?

I have heard that most people lose money in the stock market and I always wondered about that. That means you must buy high and sell low. Duh!

Cymer is obviously low right and will very likely be trading much higher within one year. Regardless of where you bought, why would you sell now?

THe only reason I can think of is if you need a tax break and are going to turn around and buy another stock that is currently low (see QCOM).
