They are neither Federally nor State-funded for this 3%--but rather rely on the compassionate donations of the Christian community, as well as all non-Christians of a humanitarian bent. The other 97% of Planned Parenthood Community Services are cancer screenings of the type funded by Komen (16%), STI/STD testing and treatment (35%) and contraceptive services including gynecological exams (35%) and other women’s health services (10%). There is no doubt that Planned Parenthood is one of the most socially conscientious and humanitarian organizations that exists anywhere. Millions of women--*not only Christian women--owe their health, their happiness, and their quality of life, to disease prevention and treatment--and to education and assistance in te avoidance of unwanted pregnancies--and the terrible drain on humanity such unwanted pregnancies may cause...including illegal, unsafe, and COMPLETELY UNECESSARY abortions!!
