...Yes, it is but coming up with a likeness of Jesus to describe is a helluva lot easier than describing what your main god looks like.....The description of a 3rd god of yours, ie Satan, is a lot easier on you, the church cartoonists have taken care of that... The Mormons have an "official" picture of Jesus and he is blond with blue eyes. Doesn't look a bit like the short swarthy dark-skin Semites of the locale. Also Mormons, including Brother Romney, believe that true Mormon believers can be a God and rule over their own planet. Kinda like a franchise I guess. But you don't want to get a planet too close to Kolob 'cause that's the planet where the Devil dwells. It's scary to think that a man who wants to be president of the United States actually believes such crap!

ISIS and the Taliban are cutting heads off because the founder of their religion set the model of doing that. Unlike Jesus. Christians did the same and continue today is much milder form.....eg pass laws to discriminate against those who don't follow their religion (or their version of their religion).. Now you're equating not wanting to take part in a gay wedding as being the moral equivalent of beheading people. That's liberal BS of course. I think fear is the basis of atheism. What's better, to face a Creator you aren't reconciled to or to go to sleep forever? You couldn't be further from the truth......more people would admit to atheism except for the fear and trepidation of shedding the brain washing they received since toddler hood......and many reason as you do, .....hey, why take a chance that there may be god, costs me nothing except my conscience.... That isn't at all how I reason. And your comment that believing in God means going against my conscience ... that's insane. The fact that you think that means it IS the way you think. I think you would much rather face an eternal dreamless sleep than a spiritual existence in a realm where you will eventually face the God of the Bible. I have no doubt that is your greatest fear and prompts you hysterical reactions. The fact is the fear of death argument applies to atheists even more than religious believers. Lots of people have their lives changed without religion, AA uses religion but only to a small extent and you don't need it to get their help.....there are all kinds of drug and alcohol abuse programs that work without Jesus...... Most people who succeed in those programs develop a relationship with God. ‘We are so blessed as women to live in the United States. The best place to be a woman in the world is in the U.S. The best place to be black in the world is in the U.S.,’..... ‘I cannot imagine a better place to be gay than in the U.S." That certainly can't be said about the entire United States.......your state included.... Religious Freedom laws, my ass.......... Voting rights, abortion rights....bull shit! Actually it applies more to TX than to NY. But for the NYPD and FBI, NY would be like those European countries where gays and Jews can be killed in the street.
