Read Obama's Lying Lips

.........................................................................................

americanthinker.com
By Dan Calic
April 12, 2015

Starting back in June 2008, then candidate Obama began touting the importance of preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons when he said, “the danger from Iran is grave, it is real, and my goal will be to eliminate this threat.” On October 7 in ‘08 he said, “we cannot allow Iran to obtain a nuclear weapon, and I will do everything that’s required to prevent it.”

On November 4, 2008 Barack Obama was elected President in what many considered a landslide victory, winning the popular vote by 8 million votes. One of his campaign slogans was “change we can believe in.”

Let’s take a look at what he said after being elected. Here are some examples of his statements regarding Iran.

On July 1, 2010 he said, “the United States and the international community are determined to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.” In the 2012 State of the Union address he again made his views clear by stating emphatically, “America is determined to prevent Iran from getting a nuclear weapon, and I will take no options off the table to achieve that goal.”

Then on March 5 2012 when some suggested he was shifting his efforts from prevention to containment he said, “my policy here is not going to be one of containment, my policy is prevention of Iran obtaining nuclear weapons.”

He repeated this vow when he spoke to the UN on Sept. 25 2012.

On October 22, 2012 during the election campaign while debating Mitt Romney, these were his words- “as long as I’m President of the United States Iran will not get a nuclear weapon.”

He was re-elected President on November 6, 2012. His 2013 State of the Union address offered a repeat of his vow against Iran.

Altogether there have been at least 28 separate occasions when Barak Obama assured America and the world Iran would not be allowed to obtain nuclear weapons. For a list of his quotations, click here.

On April 2 President Obama announced an agreement had been reached with Iran regarding nuclear weapons. Did the agreement reflect his repeated commitments to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons? The simple answer is no. He did not honor the numerous promises he made for the past 7 years. After seven years of telling the entire world what he would prevent, he looked all of us in the eye and all but said, “Read my lips, I lied to you!”

Former Soviet spy: We created Liberation Theology
..................................................................................................

Washington D.C., May 1, 2015 / 03:34 pm ( CNA).- Espionage deep in the heart of Europe. Secrets in the KGB. Defection from a communist nation. Ion Mihai Pacepa has seen his share of excitement, serving as general for Communist Romania’s secret police before defecting to the United States in the late 1970s.

The highest-ranking defector from communism in the ‘70s, he spoke to CNA recently about the connection between the Soviet Union and Liberation Theology in Latin America. Below are excerpts of the interview. All footnotes were provided by Pacepa.

In general, could you say that the spreading of Liberation Theology had any kind of Soviet connection?

Yes. I learned the fine points of the KGB involvement with Liberation Theology from Soviet General Aleksandr Sakharovsky, communist Romania's chief razvedka (foreign intelligence) adviser – and my de facto boss, until 1956, when he became head of the Soviet espionage service, the PGU1, a position he held for an unprecedented record of 15 years.

On October 26, 1959, Sakharovsky and his new boss, Nikita Khrushchev, came to Romania for what would become known as “Khrushchev's six-day vacation.” He had never taken such a long vacation abroad, nor was his stay in Romania really a vacation. Khrushchev wanted to go down in history as the Soviet leader who had exported communism to Central and South America. Romania was the only Latin country in the Soviet bloc, and Khrushchev wanted to enroll her “Latin leaders” in his new “liberation” war.

I learned about Sakharovsky from your writings, but I could not find any other relevant information about him. Why?

Sakharovsky was a Soviet reflection of the Cold War's hot years, when not even all the members of the Israeli and British governments knew the identity of the heads of Mossad and MI-6. But Sakharovsky played an extremely important role in shaping Cold War history. He authored the export of communism to Cuba (1958-1961); his nefarious handling of the Berlin crisis (1958-1961) generated the Berlin Wall; his Cuban Missile Crisis (1962) brought the world to the brink of nuclear war.

Was the Theology of Liberation a movement somehow "created" by Sakharovsky's part of the KGB, or it was an existing movement that was exacerbated by the USSR?

The movement was born in the KGB, and it had a KGB-invented name: Liberation Theology. During those years, the KGB had a penchant for “liberation” movements. The National Liberation Army of Columbia (FARC), created by the KGB with help from Fidel Castro; the “National Liberation Army of Bolivia, created by the KGB with help from “Che” Guevara; and the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), created by the KGB with help from Yasser Arafat are just a few additional “liberation” movements born at the Lubyanka -- the headquarters of the KGB.

The birth of Liberation Theology was the intent of a 1960 super-secret “Party-State Dezinformatsiya Program” approved by Aleksandr Shelepin, the chairman of the KGB, and by Politburo member Aleksey Kirichenko, who coordinated the Communist Party's international policies. This program demanded that the KGB take secret control of the World Council of Churches (WCC), based in Geneva, Switzerland, and use it as cover for converting Liberation Theology into a South American revolutionary tool. The WCC was the largest international ecumenical organization after the Vatican, representing some 550 million Christians of various denominations throughout 120 countries.

The birth of a new religious movement is a historic event. How was this new religious movement launched?

The KGB began by building an intermediate international religious organization called the Christian Peace Conference (CPC), which was headquartered in Prague. Its main task was to bring the KGB-created Liberation Theology into the real world.

The new Christian Peace Conference was managed by the KGB and was subordinated to the venerable World Peace Council, another KGB creation, founded in 1949 and by then also headquartered in Prague.

During my years at the top of the Soviet bloc intelligence community I managed the Romanian operations of the World Peace Council (WPC). It was as purely KGB as it gets. Most of the WPC’s employees were undercover Soviet bloc intelligence officers. The WPC’s two publications in French, Nouvelles perspectives and Courier de la Paix, were also managed by undercover KGB – and Romanian DIE2 - intelligence officers. Even the money for the WPC budget came from Moscow, delivered by the KGB in the form of laundered cash dollars to hide their Soviet origin. In 1989, when the Soviet Union was on the verge of collapse, the WPC publicly admitted that 90% of its money came from the KGB3.

How did the Theology of Liberation start?

I was not involved in the creation of Liberation Theology per se. From Sakharovsky I learned, however, that in 1968 the KGB-created Christian Peace Conference, supported by the world-wide World Peace Council, was able to maneuver a group of leftist South American bishops into holding a Conference of Latin American Bishops at Medellin, Colombia. The Conference’s official task was to ameliorate poverty. Its undeclared goal was to recognize a new religious movement encouraging the poor to rebel against the “institutionalized violence of poverty,” and to recommend the new movement to the World Council of Churches for official approval.

The Medellin Conference achieved both goals. It also bought the KGB-born name “Liberation Theology.”

Theology of Liberation had key leaders, some of them famous “pastoral” figures, some others intellectuals. Do you know if there was any involvement of the Soviet bloc in promoting either the personal image or the writings of such personalities? Any specific connection with Bishops Sergio Mendes Arceo from Mexico or Helder Camara from Brazil? Any possible direct connection with liberation theologians such as Leonardo Boff, Frei Betto, Henry Camacho or Gustavo Gutierrez?

I have good reason to suspect that there was an organic connection between the KGB and some of those leading promoters of Liberation Theology, but I have no evidence to prove it. For the last 15 years of my life in Romania (1963 - 1978), I managed that country's scientific and technological espionage, as well as the disinformation operations aimed at improving Ceausescu's stature in the West.

I recently glanced through Gutierrez's book A Theology of Liberation: History, Politics, Salvation (1971), and I had the feeling that it was written at the Lubyanka. No wonder he is now credited with being the founder of Liberation Theology. From feelings to facts, however, is a long way.

Obama Complains to UN About America’s ‘Human Rights’ Violations
.............................................................
breitbart ^ | May 11, 2015 | Joel B. Pollak

The Obama administration has, once again, complained to the United Nations about alleged American human rights violations–and boasted about liberal policies like Obamacare as the solution.

The State Department report, released Monday as part of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) at the UN Human Rights Council, reads less like an accounting of human rights issues and more like the platform of the Democratic Party–and invites the world to judge America harshly.

The so-called “human rights” problems cited in the report include:

•Police brutality, including the Michael Brown case in Ferguson, Missouri

•Discrimination against Muslims who want to build or expand mosques

Voter identification laws in Texas and elsewhere •

•Suspension of black children in schools

•Women earning “78 cents on the dollar” (a false statistic)

Editorial: Ted Cruz not running for president of Cuba

..................................................................................................
http://www.dallasnews.com/opinion/editorials/20150511-editorial-ted-cruz-not-running-for-president-of-cuba.ece
11 May 2015

You don’t have to like Sen. Ted Cruz, or even agree with him, to find offense in a recent line of questioning he endured.

More than awkwardness, Mark Halperin offered a stunning small-mindedness as he attempted to tease out

Cruz’s Hispanic bona fides:

What Cuban food did he like growing up? Which Cuban music does he favor today?

Would he welcome fellow Sen. Bernie Sanders to the presidential race,
“and I’d like you to do it, if you would, en español”?

Halperin, co-author of the book Game Change on the 2012 presidential campaign and an annalist on MSNBC,
spoke to Cruz for a Bloomberg Politics online interview series on presidential candidates.

As you may have heard, Cruz, Texas’ junior senator, is running for president — of a country that should be above such
inappropriate behavior from a journalist.

Cruz has been clear about his Cuban heritage, even as he has spent roughly zero time pushing himself as
the “Hispanic candidate.” For the record, Cruz’s father left Cuba in 1957 to attend the University of Texas.
Ted was born in 1970 in Calgary, Alberta, where his father worked in the oil industry.

They and Ted’s mother, born in Delaware, moved to the Houston area, where Ted grew into a brilliant legal mind .

What Cruz has said or will say about the issues facing Americans — how he comports himself as a U.S. senator and
presidential candidate — is what matters. What doesn’t? Where he lands on arroz con frijoles or Desi Arnaz’s career.

This newspaper has had significant disagreement with Cruz’s performance in Congress, none of it remotely related
to his ethnicity. America should judge his current candidacy in similar light.

Cruz kept his cool with Halperin, who apologized Monday — 11 days after the interview first aired.
But Cruz had to wonder what gave this Beltway big shot license to even take this path. What other presidential candidate
would he question this way?

Syndicated columnist Ruben Navarrette, a former member of this editorial board, was succinct:

“I will also stick to English, Señor Halperin. You crossed the line. This was bad journalism, bad form and bad manners.”

What else need be said, in any language?

A classy Ted Cruz vs. charlatan reporter

.........................................................................
Media rips Bloomberg talker Halperin for attempt to 'de-Hispanify' candidate

image: wnd.com

David Limbaugh

Liberal media honcho Mark Halperin really showed his “colors” as he tried to de-Hispanify Sen. Ted Cruz in an interview for Bloomberg Politics over the weekend.

If you like arrogant, condescending, rude, insolent and patronizing Beltway journalism, you may appreciate Halperin’s performance. If you are a person of ordinary sensibilities, however, and not so intoxicated with the leftist worldview that you are incapable of dispassionately assessing the segment, you will have a different reaction.

What first struck me about the interview was not so much the asinine questions Halperin asked but his obvious motive and attitude in asking them. Aside from a few throwaways, all of his questions were aimed at exposing Cruz as an inauthentic Hispanic. And as insulting as that is, there is something more noteworthy about it that some are missing in all the hubbub about the interview.

Halperin’s unstated premise underlying his questions is that one cannot have a bona fide Hispanic heritage if he doesn’t continue to bathe himself in the Hispanic culture and view American politics from a Hispanic prism. If you are ethnically Hispanic but have assimilated into American culture and embrace the American idea of government, you ought not be entitled to lay claim to your ethnicity or to receive support from the Hispanic community. Halperin and his liberal friends apply the same standards to assess African-American candidacies.

Cruz showed extraordinary class and restraint in fielding these boorish questions, but what was even more gratifying to me was that in his answers, he implicitly, though emphatically, rejected Halperin’s assumptions, making clear that though he is proud of his ethnicity and considers his Cuban-American father his hero, he is a full-blooded American, proud of the Constitution and the liberties it protects.

At every turn, Halperin was trying to discredit Cruz as a Hispanic by trying to trap him into revealing that he doesn’t qualify as a person who could attract Hispanic votes through identity politics, and at every turn, Cruz showed that he could do so indeed if he chose to; he chooses not to because he is about economic growth and opportunity for all Americans. He simply refuses to look at his candidacy as an opportunity to help any targeted groups, including Hispanics. This, my friends, was the takeaway from the interview, because in the end, it was about Cruz, not Halperin, who only confirmed that he’s a mini-flyweight charlatan of a reporter.

To experience the full effect of this embarrassing charade, you need to watch the video, but here are some excerpts of the questions and my summary of Cruz’s responses.

“What’s your appraisal of (Bernie Sanders’) candidacy, and can we hear your very good and very respectful imitation of Senator Sanders?”

Cruz didn’t take the bait but did use the opportunity to make a trenchant point: Sanders gets props for his candor in admitting he’s a socialist. Hillary Clinton’s economic policies are very close to Sanders’, and it will be interesting to have her explain whether she agrees with policies he’ll describe as socialist and whether they would be good for this country. Bingo.

“Your last name is Cruz, and you’re from Texas. Just based on that, should you have appeal to Hispanic voters?”

Again, Cruz refused to fall into Halperin’s trap. He didn’t say, “Hey, I am really Hispanic.” He said he is proud he received 40 percent of the Hispanic vote in his U.S. Senate race in Texas because his personal story resonates with the Hispanic community. And it does so not because he speaks Spanish but because it is an inspiring story of a father who relied on his own personal fortitude to achieve the American dream in a land of opportunity. Cruz’s message to Hispanic voters is not “Vote for me because I’m one of you” but “Vote for me because I intend to restore the American dream and expand opportunities for all Americans, regardless of color – with policies that will allow you to unshackle yourselves from the burdensome and destructive policies of the Obama administration and will lead to your liberty and prosperity.”

After a few more questions shamelessly trying to flesh out Cruz as a fraud and a faux Hispanic (asking him to identify his favorite Cuban food, Cuban dish and Cuban singer), Halperin asked Cruz whether the Republicans could win a majority of the Hispanic vote – as if that were all that matters in a Cruz candidacy.

Cruz graciously ignored the utter offensiveness and shallowness of the question and asserted that President Obama’s policies have “hammered” the Hispanic community and other minorities. Cruz stressed that he is all about expanding growth, opportunity and jobs for everyone and promoting school choice as the civil rights issue of the 21st century because every child, regardless of race, deserves an opportunity for excellence in education. Just outstanding.

What Republicans should learn from this interview – and others – is that despite what they’re telling you, Democrats and liberals are genuinely afraid of Ted Cruz because he is a class act, poised and unflappably enthusiastic about the American dream and will pursue an agenda to reverse Obama’s “transformational changes” and restore opportunity for all Americans, irrespective of race, creed, color, ethnicity, gender or religion.

How splendidly refreshing – and exciting!

Out of hospital but his medical bills might be between $200,000-$400,000

Antoine Lawson charged with attempted murder and girl, 15, charged with assault

Police are still hoping to arrest the other teens involved in the beating

A 17-year-old boy has been charged as an adult for his role in beating a 61-year-old alongside a group of approximately 50 other teens in Baltimore, Maryland, on April 22.

Richard Fletcher was brutally beaten by the teens after he went outside to ask two girls who were fighting on top of his truck to move along and continue their dispute elsewhere.

The mob of teens began to hit and kick Fletcher until he fell to the ground, but the attack didn't end.

After the beating last month, Fletcher was left with broken eye sockets, a broken nose, broken ribs and a brain bleed, according to CBS Baltimore.

He also needed a blood transfusion.

Police have made two arrests in the case and are hoping to bring all of the teens, who are believed to be students at Baltimore Community High School, that participated in the beating to justice.

Antoine Lawson has already been charged with attempted murder and a 15-year-old girl was charged with assault.

He said: 'It has gotten out of hand now, gone too far.

'The kids walk on top of cars, kick dogs, let dogs out, throw trash, steal milk from school and throw it at houses, threaten neighbors with bodily harm.'

Fletcher is out of the hospital and the Harbor View Neighborhood Association has opened a GoFundMe account to raise money for his medical bills.

The association wrote: 'Rick was brutally attacked by approximately 49 students from a near-by school on April 22.

'We are working closely with the family to assist them during this difficult time.

'We estimate his medical bills will be between $200,000-$400,000.

'His medical insurance will not pay for all of the bills.

'At this time, he is out of the hospital but he will need several additional surgeries. Rick has a long road to recovery.

'We do not expect the perpetrators will help him or his family pay for any of the medical expenses.

'Please donate to this very worthy cause , as Rick did not deserve this.'

The campaign has raised more than $8,000.

There is a shopping plaza in a nearby town. For the last year or so every single day after school a group of teenagers, mostly girls, go there and fight each other. Sometimes there are several hundred of them. They terrorize the people who are trying to shop there. Some of these shops close down for a few hours every day now. Meanwhile nothing seems to happen to them. I am not sure what the world is becoming, but it's not pretty.

Hillary’s Closest Adviser Is Hiding The Truth Of Her emails

New York Post
By Paul Sperry
May 17, 2015 | 6:00am

Excerpt:

If Congress really wants to get to the bottom of Hillary Clinton’s missing Benghazi and pay-to-play emails, it should call her consigliere Cheryl D. Mills to testify — under oath, and under the klieg lights.

A hearing featuring Clinton will be a wasted show trial with a lot of political grandstanding.

But Mills, who served as the former secretary of state’s chief of staff and counselor, knows where the bodies are buried. After all, Hillary tasked her with “identifying and preserving all emails that could potentially be federal records.”

And, presumably, deleting.

Mills has a long track record of hiding Clinton documents.

Since the 1990s, Mills has been at Hillary’s side — first as a White House lawyer, then as her closest and most loyal adviser at the State Department, and now as a key member of the Clinton Foundation board, which is under fire for raking in hundreds of millions of dollars from dubious foreign sources in alleged influence-peddling deals.

The job of damage control has fallen to Mills through a parade of scandals. Her lack of cooperation is legendary. In fact, she’s been officially accused of both perjury and obstruction of justice.

Sworn affidavits, depositions and court rulings, as well as congressional reports and testimony, paint a picture of, to put it charitably, a brazenly dishonest cover-up specialist.

Among her shenanigans:

As White House deputy counsel, Mills ordered Commerce Department officials to “withhold” from investigators emails and other documents detailing then-President Bill Clinton’s and first lady Hillary Clinton’s allegedly illegal selling of seats on foreign trade junkets for campaign cash, according to sworn statements by Commerce’s former FOIA chief.

*snip*

Sweating Mills could crack the case wide open. Otherwise, Hillary could walk away unscathed, waltz right back into the White House — and Mills could end up running it as chief of staff.

Snapchat Now Valued At $16B, Up From $70M In Just 2 Years
......................................................................................................................
Tech Times ^ | 5-29-2015 | Fergal Gallagher

Snapchat is at it again, raising even more funding, $650 million in equity, which values the social network at a staggering $16 billion.

It's the latest funding round which has seen the company grow more than 200 times in value since February 2013 when Snapchat was worth only $70 million.

When CEO Evan Spiegel turned down a $3 billion bid from Facebook for his company later that year, many considered it foolish, but now just 18 months later his company is worth more than four times that, according to CNBC. As well as the $650 million raised, Snapchat has reportedly earmarked a further $112 million in stock for a later sale. The new investors include Alibaba, Fidelity, York Capital and Glade Brook Capital.

The company already raised $200 million from Alibaba in March, bringing the total venture capital raised by Snapchat to $848 million.

Earlier this week Spiegel admitted that Silicon Valley is living in a tech bubble fueled by an easy money policy and low interest rates, a bubble he believes will burst. "I think that people are making riskier investments and ... there will be a correction," he told the audience at Code Conference in LA. His company's giant valuation and relatively meager revenue would appear to put Snapchat at the tip of this bubble.

According to a new report from Fox News' Catherine Herridge, teammates of Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl were asked to sign non-disclosure agreements years ago after discussing his desertion with the Joint Chiefs Chairman in Afghanistan.

According to Herridge's reporting and General Bob Scales, asking soldiers to sign non-disclosure agreements is unprecedented.

"I can't remember, ever, have an enlisted soldier sign a non-disclosure agreement for anything. This is completely unprecedented," Scales said. "These non-disclosure agreements have got nothing to do with military justice."

Further, new information shows Bergdahl not only deserted, but started planning for his departure by sleeping on the floor and prepared himself for life outside of the military.

Earlier this week, General Stanley McChrystal admitted he knew Bergdahl had deserted immediately after leaving his post in June 2009. The White House maintains officials weren't and still aren't sure about the circumstances surrounding his capture by the Taliban.

Bergdahl will stand trial at Ft. Sam Houston later this year.

Army refuses to provide Honor Guard for church's July 4th celebration
fox news ^ | june 9, 2015 | todd starnes

For nearly two decades, the U.S. Army has provided an honor guard for an Independence Day celebration at a Baptist church that predates the founding of the nation. But this year – that tradition has come to an end.

Officials at Fort Gordon say they will not be able to send an honor guard to a July 5th service at Abilene Baptist Church because it violates a military policy banning any involvement in a religious service.

-snip

So what changed?

Fort Gordon’s Public Affairs Office pointed me to Army Regulation 360-1 – dated May 2011.

The lengthy regulation states Army participation must not selectively benefit (or appear to benefit) any religious group. It also mandates that Army Public Affairs not support any event involving the promotion, endorsement or sponsorship of a religious movement.

-snip

While the Pentagon won’t allow an honor guard to set foot in a church, they have no problem allowing them to march in a gay pride parade.

Last year the Department of Defense gave permission for an honor guard to participate in Washington, D.C.’s gay pride parade – a historic first. An honor guard is also expected to march in the 2015 Capital Pride parade.

Baltimore prosecutor asked police to target area where Freddie Gray was arrested
The Baltimore Sun ^ | 6/09/15 | Kevin Rector

About three weeks before Freddie Gray was chased from a West Baltimore corner by three Baltimore police officers — the start of a fatal encounter — the office of prosecutor Marilyn Mosby asked police to target the intersection with "enhanced" drug enforcement efforts, court documents show.

"State's Attorney Mosby asked me to look into community concerns regarding drug dealing in the area of North Ave and Mount St," Joshua Rosenblatt, division chief of Mosby's Crime Strategies Unit, wrote in a March 17 email to a Western District police commander. The email was disclosed for the first time Tuesday in a motion filed in Baltimore Circuit Court by defense attorneys for the six officers being prosecuted in Gray's arrest and death. The attorneys said Mosby's involvement in the police initiative meant that she should be removed from the case.

Best line of the article...""Mrs. Mosby herself is now an integral part of the story and as such is a central witness ... " the defense attorneys argued. "This is a case where the witness and the prosecutor are one and the same.""

9-year old boy expelled from school because he said he "didn't like Obama"
April 29, 2015
thestatelyharold.com

<More Here>

9 year old Jacob Wheeler attending Rosa Parks elemenary school in Los Angeles, California, was asked to leave the school and "never come back" after he made some comments that the teacher did not approve of during a history lesson. The lesson, which centered around US presidents since the 18th century along with the current political landscape, was derailed when young Jacob raised his hand and said he "didn't like Obama". His teacher responded by sending him to the principal's office, where he was then told that he would be expelled from the school for insensitive and racist remarks.

Wheeler comes from a conservative Christian family. His parents Sarah and Brad Wheeler are avid republicans, involved in local politics.

"We've always raised Jacob and his brothers to love America, freedom and the right to bear arms. Those liberties do not go so well in hand with Obama's policies, so we've made sure he knows what kind of man is running our country. We're happy Jacob stood up for what he believed in in class, but the fact that he was expelled for being a red blooded American sickens me."

Says Brad Wheeler, when we meet them at the Wheeler's California home

"I got a mind to move out of this God forsaken state and put him in a school that shares our American values, but first, we're suing the school" He continues The family is now taking legal actions against the school for what they believe is restriction of freedom of speech and discrimination of opinion - they're not backing down until justice is served."

If the school think they can get away with excluding my son because he doesn't think like everybody else, they got another thing coming" We reached out to Rosa Parks elementary where principal Hugh Myrone Gaines answered our comments.

"Jacob disrupted the lesson in a very disrespectful way and spoke ill of our great, revolutionary and tolerant president. We will not allow such ignorance and racism at our establishment and we don't regret excluding him one bit. There's a time and place for freedom of speech, but insulting our great African American president won't be tolerated".

The liberal politics of the new CEO of Fox

...............................................................................................

Rupert Murdoch is turning over the reins of 21st Century Fox to his sons, James and Lachlan. It's unclear who the primary successor is – James will be CEO, while Lachlan will be co-chairman of the board. Being co-chairman of the board is normally a higher rank, but Lachlan is specifically listed as a "nonexecutive" co-chairman, and as CEO, James will make most day-to-day decisions. My bet is that James is the one positioned to succeed his father.

So why do we care? Well, 21st Century Fox owns the Fox News Channel, and whoever manages Fox will have a say in the programming of FNC. In light of that, it's interesting to find out the politics of James and Lachlan.

I did some research on Lachlan but didn't come up with anything telling. James, however, was another story:

He is married to Kathryn Hufschmid, who works for the Clinton Climate Initiative, a charitable foundation set up by former President Clinton in 2006. Asked about his views on climate change denial during an interview with The Observer newspaper (which is not owned by News International) in June 2009, James Murdoch replied:

"How we deal with climate change deniers depends on who they are. If they run energy policy for large governments, then they're a problem. If it's a random columnist, ignore them for a while."

In early 2008, shortly after James Murdoch took the helm at News International, the company's most profitable tabloid newspaper, The Sun, appointed its first environment correspondent, Ben Jackson. The newspaper has sought to report environmental issues, including climate change, more prominently[.]

Accuracy in Media has more details:

The London Telegraph reports that “Thanks to friendships with Al Gore and Bill Clinton, he [James Murdoch] has developed deep green instincts?” His father made a $500,000 gift to the Clinton Global Initiative.

“I’ve gotten to know Al [Gore] in a number of different contexts in the last number of years,” James Murdoch told the Financial Times in an interview. We “think the same way about the necessity of being realistic concerning the climate crisis,” Gore piped in during the same interview.

Just because James is apparently a global warming fanatic doesn't mean he's liberal on other matters, of course. But it is a troubling indicator. Also troubling is the more recent trend of Fox News to give a large role for establishment Republicans like Karl Rove. Roger Ailes, who runs Fox News, will still report directly to Rupert Murdoch, but that arrangement obviously won't last forever. Ailes's contract expires next year, and he is thought not to be particularly close to either son.

Obama doesn’t understand that the Army exists to defend the nation. It’s not Valerie Jarrett’s pet social engineering project!

Under the Obama administration hundreds of high-ranking officers from every service have retired or have been forced to retire because they didn’t fit in with the current climate.

The wave of political correctness besieging the Army has had predictable results. Last week the American public was informed that despite a $278 million program to make everyone in the Army feel good, morale is down to post-Vietnam levels.

The troops have spoken. They want to be in the Army, not a Gloria Steinem encounter group.
