Sounds like a CA conservative. In fly over country they're referred to as liberals.

For some right-leaning techies, the GOP brand itself is a liability. The startup
CEO stressed that there are "a number of ideas that conservatives have that I
totally disagree with," such as opposition to same-sex marriage, and he abhors
the thought of being lumped in with Republicans who deny climate change or
evolution.

I don't know of anyone who "denies" evolution.

As to same-sex marriage, more important than "supporting" it is the reason one "supports" it. Does this guy support same sex marriage because he thinks people should be free? Or because he's a liberal and it just feels right? Because he's a Democrat? Why? That is important.

Democrats are generally stupid people. That is demonstrable. And there are a lot of people who believe in climate change yet don't understand basic science issues like the need for vaccinations, the idiotic opposition to GMOs, the nonsense of believing "Whole Foods Supermarket" food is somehow better than that at Walmart or Kroger, etc.

There is plenty of stupidity to go around and in my experience, liberals are dumber than everyone else.
