Marie explains, in words you can understand Former Secretaries of State Henry Kissinger and George Shultz collaborated on a devastating Wall Street Journal column (accessible here via Google) criticizing the pending arrangement with Iran. Asked about the column at a State Department briefing, department spokesman Marie Harf demonstrated that she may not have learned everything she needs to know in kindergarten. Her response had a sort of na-na-boo-boo quality to it: “I didn’t hear a lot of alternatives,” Harf said. “I heard a lot of–sort of a lot of big words and big thoughts in that piece, and certainly there is a place for that. But I didn’t hear a lot of alternatives about what they would do differently.” Someone ought to tell Harf she shouldn’t use the word “alternative” in this context. Via Daniel Bassali/Washington Free Beacon. JOHN adds: It is easy to say that Marie Harf is a dope, and it’s probably true. But the more important point is that she faithfully articulates the positions of her bosses, John Kerry and Barack Obama. They send her out to field questions from reporters whom they, themselves, are afraid to encounter. So Marie Harf looks stupid, but the real stupidity belongs to John Kerry and Barack Obama, whose indefensible policies she is sent forth to defend. They couldn’t answer the questions any better than she can. Possibly worse.
