Witnesses are a joke.

My brother was with a friend in a jeans store in California one day and the sales clerk gal kept eyeballing him. He just thought she was checking him out. Two days later we were at the County Road yard getting off work on a Friday when three cop cars rolled in and arrested him for armed robbery of the jeans store. There had been a series of robberies all over the County of these jeans stores. The cops took the girl's word that my brother was the perpetrator. They couldn't be bothered to actually check with the County Road bosses and easily verify that he'd been at work when the robberies happened. Instead they 6 packed his photo and went to the other stores and all 5 other clerks ID'ed him as well.

He was heading to kangaroo court and facing 10-20 years when the robber (apparently did not read the paper) committed yet another jean store robbery and was caught shortly thereafter. Turns out he was 12 years younger and didn't look like my brother at all, except they were both slender white guys.

Eye witnesses compared to DNA? no comparison.
