(screen shot/WPXI) By John Luciew | April 10, 2015 pennlive.com A Stroudsburg, Pa., woman suffered a broken eye socket and bruises during the attack, which took place in a local movie theater of all places. And why did the group of teen girls pounce on victim Cindy Santamaria-Williams? She tells WNEP-TV, which broke the story, that she 'shushed' them for being "loud and cursing." Worse, the attack didn't occur during the heat of the moment inside the theater. The woman tells WNEP that the girls jumped her after the film let out: "They immediately jumped on me and knocked me to the ground, punched me in the face," she said, adding that the original girls were waiting with five other teens. She tells WNEP that she hopes someone will come forward to help police catch the suspects: "They were in my face. Their face is in my head. If I see them again or in a line up, I know exactly who they are," Santamaria-Williams said. Stroud Area Regional Police Chief William Parrish says authorities are looking at video from the mall. A shame she wasn't. happycynic 1 hour ago What is the deal with a certain segment of society who talks back to the screen in movie theaters. I even hear comedians who are members of that segment make jokes about it and draw howls from audiences made up most of the same said segment. If they know they do it and laugh at themselves for doing it.....then why continue to make idiots of themselves and ruin films by doing it? Seriously, what is the deal with that? Thank the Great Society, That Democrat's started in the 60's . Listen to a couple of speeches' that Condyle Rice has given, he how the back Family was affected . It explains it all. 4BlueStars 3 hours ago How did I know? Just reading the headline, I knew. This country is in deep shiite with a segment of the population that is out of control. I don't think it's going to end well. You just know it from the headline whose involved and anyone saying they don't is a lair and a Democrat which are synonymous. JohnnyBgood121 3 hours ago Why would this NOT be a hate crime? brianinpa 1 hour ago @JohnnyBgood121 Because the Holder and the current resident did not want to push that kind of agenda. camillelynette 6 hours ago Yep. If the shoe was on the other foot. .....I will just stop right there because what's the point? I hope they are caught and something is actually done about this. patcares 8 hours ago It was just a few weeks ago there was a similar situation but the mother of the kids reached out on facebook to apologize AND pay for another movie and dinner for the inconvenienced person. I said then that more parents should be like her. I also said many parents would defend their kids or yell at you for shushing them! Kids growing up now lack morals and empathy. They think they are the only one who is important. Society is allowing this to happen . We all need to follow the Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would want them to do unto you. We also need to all take responsibility for our actions and stop blaming other people. allmegirl 9 hours ago Youth are getting more-more brazen with their behaviors. Talk to some of our Educators who spend a significant amount of time with them on a regular basis. A large number of youth have no positive parental influences. Educators which includes Counselor have the task of teaching youth boundaries and respect that was once a part of being a parent. I don't go to the movies anymore it cost too much. But if someone is being rude I would certainly "step-to-them" as I did not pay that kind of money to have my entertainment ruined! Peter_Puck 10 hours agoSo would you fear asking others to be quiet during movies due to the violent reaction in this case? Tell us.: Nope. Done it myself. When others were causing a nuisance during a movie, I 'shushed' them and it was well deserved. These teens, who have no morals or manners, attacked this woman because she's a woman and they should be charged to the full extent of the law. They'd better hope the law catches them first, before someone else gets to them. Bill Jefferson 3 hours ago I care. It's almost always black girls or boys, and society needs to clean up that nonsense. Don't play into Holder's scam about being afraid to talk about race - we've got a BIG problem.
