The San Joaquin Valley was suitable for limited agricultural usage only because it never had enough water. Ditto for eastern WA and eastern OR. Phoenix should never have been built in the desert.........ditto Las Vegas.......ditto Salt Lake City. It was the belief in free markets and the lack of gov't intervention that allowed this kind of development to occur...........just like its a lack of intervention that is allowing the Ogallala aquifer in the Midwest to be drained. You don't understand any of this because you are so steeped in your ideology that you can't see the forest for the trees. This generation won't pay for our stupidity but the next ones will.
