Thanks for the explanation.

There are indeed MANY holes in your analysis..............HOWEVER..your estimated final cost is reasonable plus or minus $5.

Intel's costs will be much lower than AMD's my best guess would be $15-$20 cost for a PII.

The major point however is NOT who will have the lowest cost but what will happen to the hight tech stock market and to AMD, NSM and INTEL in particular as unit prices bomb to sub <<$100.

PS I have taken my lumps in the market recently and have gone into a large cash portion as I await a buying opportunity. I am also thinking of shorting some techs but have not has the b++lls to so do.

PS as far as the Intelopers/ Intel Police are concerned I find most of them helpfull (particularly Paul E. on design issues and Youseff on process) except when they are insulted and then lot's of crap goes back and forth unfortunately. I happen to think we can all learn from each other and hence make more informed investment decisions.
