Peter ; I took a small bet on KEF..Korea..Kim won the election,
I think that's good..true he just edged out Lee..but opposition
had also ran a moderate shill to try and split Kims support,
Rhee..it worked but not good enough, you see they have the most
vote, past the post thingy , no run off so if Rhee could'v got
enough of KIms votes, then Lee would have got it..as it is
the margin looks close, but had not Rhee been in it most of
them would have voted for Lee, so the reality of it is most
of the Koreas will just be happy Lee didn't get it.
I hopes that gets them back in the market..I will know by
Monday if I'm right or not.
----------------------------------------
Got a fair bet tied up in a loser you don't want to hear about,
it could be down and out..but I'll hang onto it a little longer
MOOV, I think it will take a lot to drive her any futher down,
but sure sorry I got that one..hate to give in and sell, she has
been basing a while..and could make a jump after the first of the
year don't seem like many sellers now. I tripled down on her to
lower my average..and I'm holding, for now..with about 40% of my
investment gone on paper..but shes down to 1-1/8th and I figure
I may as well risk it all as to jump out now..any good news at
all and she will pop up..at least she don't depend on Asia.
----------------------------
I got one single solitary share of OAKSX, fund..it's now closed
to new investors..so I left one share in her when I came out
Dec 5th..so I can get back in after this mess settels down.
----------------------------
Thats it except for some bonds I locked in at 7%..and some
CDs locked at 6.5%..right now they just have to stay there,
the rest is in cash ( Insured Money Markets ) no bills, the house
I live in is falling down but it's paid for ;-)
Both my wifes car and mine are 10 years old..but paid for..
and I'm hanging onto some local real estate with one renter
who does all the maintance himself.
-----------------------------------
I'v made some dilly of mistakes before when markets turned
down and bought stuff to soon and had to wait for what seemed
forever to get back even..learnd about bottom fishing in a
Bear market the hard way.
------------------------------
IMHO..wait for the Utilities to lose their shine and come off
their highs..at least half ( percentage wise ) of what the
markets lost before bottom fishing..as they come down the
market gets bullish before they make thier lows..but they
are too high now in respect to AUG..and our fall in OCT,
to convince me we won't fall more..and maybe hard to.
---------------------------------
You notice the stocks bob up and down with the bond rates,
but some of that money has to come back out of utlities
before any real up turn can last..
Utilities are the often over looked indicator..I don't want any
now..they are to high..
--------------------
I'm not buying yet but got my eye on AR..and PCU..
have done ok with them in the past catching them low..
Tech wise if I get to were I think the bottom is put in,
MOT..will likly be my first play. Along with some no load
Mutual funds I'm tracking.
----------------------------------
Mostly Bonds and cash right now, and no hurry to buy anything.
Jim,
