I know a person living in S. Korea. Trust me they tell me it looks pretty bleak. I also know people from China that visit regulary. (FWIW) That kind of information is worth alot. Relying on the slant the press would like to give, is risky at best. Glenn

Well, my wife's colleague recently returned from her trip to Asia(Hong Kong/Korea). My wife says, she dumped most of her major equities, the very next day she arrived from there, incurring pretty hefty losses. Since then, many of the same stocks including DELL, INTC, CPQ etc,. have fallen sharply, while we are holding on to the
sinking ship with no rafts in sight.

The story, it seems is grimmer than what I read in the last few issues of the Business Week.

With today's Prudential's bull Ralph's comments on DOW trading in
the range of 6000-8000 for 1998, it scared hell out of me.
