The H&S formation goes back to a book by Edwards and Magee,
first writen in 1948.
(1)Think of a H&S formation as a "battle" between the bulls and bears.
(2)The bears and bulls attack and counter attack.
(3) The bulls are doing fine until they fail to make a new high
(right S).
(4) The key to every battle is when "all" know that outcome is
no longer in doubt. That point happens when the bears push the
stock price below the "neck line".
(5) At that point the bulls retreat very quickly to the next support
which is shown on the chart.
..................................................
If you watch the History channel on TV, The wars always have this
point where the out come is no longer in doubt....
Hope that helps !
