I just bot a SyJet and I love it. Installation was a synch. It's very quite and looks great too. I think I'm in love.
I also increased my holdings today; bigtime.
more marketing of itself could really start a new era for SyQuest.

Merry NOEL everyone.

Dave:

I just installed my EIDE SparQ and am pleased with the performance.
Based on the numbers you supplied for your speed testing of your parallel SparQ (700 MBytes transferred in 15 min), I calculate an average rate of 778 KBytes/second.

I performed a similar test using XCOPY from windows95/DOS. I copied 26 MBytes from Hard Disk to SparQ in 30 seconds which gives an average transfer rate of 866 KBytes/second. Not too much of a difference!

My system uses a 5x86 at 133 MHertz (roughly equivalent to a pentium 90). Perhaps I'll get faster transfers when I upgrade my system.
Apparently, the Windows95 overhead is slowing down the transfer rate.
