Agreement with Tech Data Significantly Expands Cabletron's Indirect Distribution Channels

Partnership Launched With $140 Instant Rebate Incentive On

SmartSTACK Ethernet Desktop Switches

Taking a major step forward in efforts to dramatically expand its relationships with premier channel partners, Cabletron Systems (NYSE:CS) today announced it signed an agreement with one of the industry's leading full-line distributors -- Tech Data Corporation (NASDAQ:TECD). The agreement substantially widens Cabletron's distribution, providing resellers nation-wide with greater access to the company's award-winning switching and network management products, and legendary service and support capabilities.

Effective immediately, Cabletron products, service and support are available through Tech Data's extensive domestic base of resellers, as well as their sophisticated electronic-commerce vehicles including TDweb, TDonline and TDonCD. Cabletron launches this new partnership with a $140 instant rebate incentive for Tech Data resellers selling the Cabletron SmartSTACK Ethernet Desktop Switch.

In addition, an extensive co-marketing program will support the new partnership, including training and product certification, advertising, direct mail and incentives targeted at Tech Data resellers in the United States.
