So what? If they want to go through it, let them. You can tell them it's a hoax, you can tell them it's ineffective, but when you tell them it's illegal, that's when you're using government to push your values upon them. I don't think it should be illegal for men over 21 but it should be illegal for any man under 21. No parent should have the right to try and convert their gay son into a straight man.
