Snake, if you are referring to the DVS, the answer is more than one, in fact at least 2 are needed. This is my understanding, (one in NY per se and one in LA for example for them to be able to communicate with each other for intra-network calls).

However none are needed once the POPs are set up nationwide only the calling cards. This is a basic understanding on my part. There are many more intricacies, I'm sure which, could be better explained by FTEL. Why not just ask them. Gosh, you have been here long enough to know how to do that and I would expect that at the very least from you. {eom}.
