Wayde,

Thanks for the explanation on triple witching. Half of what you said just flies over my head. I miscalculated and thought that triple witching will be on Friday, so I was planning to sell some of my tech stocks on Wednesday or Thursday ahead of the volatility, but after the big run-up on Tuesday, stocks already went down yesterday, so now I am stuck and will hold on to my undervalued stocks.

I think the Asian market is currently down because people don't view very favorably about Kim Dae-jung winning the election in S. Korea. He was the candidate who said that he will consider renegotiating the terms of the IMF loan. He backed out only after the Korean won sank further.

Well, I am getting pretty sick about all these economic bad news. How about some humorous posts to relieve the tension:

To SXB and others:
NYT reported at 9:45 pm that morning session of NIKKEI ended
down 923 points. Concern over weak U.S. markets and another large
bankrupcy
of a large Japanese foodstuf company causing the concern. (I surmise
that the Korean election results didn't help). An interesting article
about the new Korean (socialist ?) president appears in the NYT.
