After witnessing a 40+ point drop in the S&P futures a few weeks back, 7 points is childs play. As far as Japan and Hong Kong are concerned, mark my words, the U.S. market will soon diverge from those markets, leading the way forward. Too much money coming in before the end of the month. It is short term over sold now. Not all companies deal with these two. Check out LBOR. CEO says they will easily beat even the highest earning estimates for 4Q and '98. No contracts with Japan or HK. Contrarian view says look for a turn very soon. The doom and gloom scenerio has got everyone spooked again. sz
