>> In 2014, OK has had more earthquakes greater than 3.0 than any other state besides Alaska.......more than CA. Try to wrap your head around that one and then go back to your watercolours. ;)

There are numerous points to be made.

First and foremost, unless you have some other way of disposing of the stuff that is injected in wastewater wells, it is a moot point.

Secondly, a 3.0 quake is nothing to get excited about. 2.0s happen 1000 times a day; 3.0-4.0 happen 50,000 times a year. If you are inside a building and the epicenter isn't right next to you, at most it would be like a vibration you would experience when a small truck drives by.

There is no evidence these things are harmful in any way.

I grew close enough to the New Madrid fault to feel occasional earthquakes like that and they did no damage.

MagnitudeDescription Mercalli intensityAverage earthquake effectsAverage frequency of occurrence (estimated)
Less than 2.0 MicroIMicroearthquakes, not felt, or felt rarely by sensitive people. Recorded by seismographs. [16]Continual/several million per year
2.0–2.9MinorI to IIFelt slightly by some people. No damage to buildings.Over one million per year
3.0–3.9II to IVOften felt by people, but very rarely causes damage. Shaking of indoor objects can be noticeable.Over 100,000 per year
