On my Windows XP machine, 10 years old, I have never done a clean install of Windows, its the original install. I have however restored images over the years, but never a clean install.

I re-installed XP on a friend's old Dell computer about a month ago and he had all his installation discs, but he didn't have the windows installation key, but I was able to obtain that by using the Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder. Got his computer up and running like new, and two weeks later he called me and his printer wasn't working. Don't know what happened, but I restored an image I had made of his system C: drive partition on a small secondary partition and his computer was perfect again in 30 minutes.
