Your comments about SDRAM on MediaGXm make good sense. I have to agree with you and Cyrix decision to cancel the EDO support on GXm.

Today's benchmark showed the real value of SDRAM towards MediaGX family.

Micron said a few days ago that they were making more SDRAM now than EDO and that the major mfgs. are going over 100% to SDRAM. The price differential to large qty. OEMs is only about 10% over MU's EDO pricing (which tends is higher than than the spot market price $3-$3.50/16 Mbit).

Many MB manufacturers say (EET mag.)it is very difficult to support different combinations of EDO and SDRAM because of minor differences.
