Yes the locale in question is somewhere in an ocean (gg). And yes, you are correct that they actually had their time zone changed to be #1 (obscure hint that the answer is not easy).

As for ALYD being more volatile because of options... well, big investors like options so I suppose anything that attracts such types would help bring volume to the stock. Also, since options often are boom or bust, investors have been known to buy and sell large positions in an attempt to influence the options pricing, hedge their bets, etc. I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "better liquidity means better quality", unless you are implying the market will dictate the price of ALYD and not the MMs anymore?
