So, there is a story pitched by Harry Reid, proved to be among the biggest liars in the nation's history, that he fell off some kind of rubber band device at home and seriously injured his eye and apparently broke his scull. A story which was on its face considered unbelievable by many. Then, a man sets up a fraud, operating under an assumed name, and goes to a reporter (or blogger, can't tell the difference anymore) with what seemed like a reasonable explanation of the events. This man lied to these media people in a deliberate attempt to get a particular reaction. So, it is astonishing to you that his fraud went undetected?

I don't find anything strange about it. These people are media personalities, the story seemed reasonable, and the man set about to make a fraudulent claim and have it stick.

When is Reid going to sue the treadmill manufacturer?

Why are you so proud about warped libtards fabricating stories and lying to the press?

You must be pretty sick between the ears to applaud that, but after what I've read about you over here, it does not surprise me in the least.

HTH, but I would seriously doubt it in your case.
