Tim, MMDS has been a disapointment and now LMDS is stepping up to replace it. I've always had the feeling that the FCC was pleased to collect money for the spectrum rights, but they've been a big road block to deploying first digital and now 2 way service. I can only think this is due to a desire to protect other services such as cable and telephone. At the same time, the service is not perfect, but then I'm not sure LMDS is either. Both these services have the potential to really harm cable and telephone rollouts.

So, what makes you think that the FCC will let LMDS manuver freely to win business as conditions progress? Have you determined what the FCC wants from LMDS? Who is going to buy the LMDS rights? RBOC's bought some MMDS, but the entrepenuers who tried to make MMDS work have been severly injured by FCC.

I guess I'm just skeptical about seeing the LMDS demand materialize in such a hurry. Why do you think MMDS has failed, and where does LMDS succeed?

As far as demand in Asia goes, I thought Malaysia and Singapore also had some big plans for HFC systems. Japan has also had some programs which have been more fiber to the door.

Regards,

Mark
