I wonder how much of this is a reaction to, now that we HAVE a black president, things haven't really changed?

Riots? We've had riots since the 60s. Things have changed but not enough. And its clear how much they haven't changed by the way some whites treat the current president. I am sure the black community has been watching these interactions between Obama and his racist protagonists very closely.

However, I think its important to distinguish between the protestors and the criminals who take advantage of the protests. Despite the flames, the criminal element does not nearly have the impact and leeway it once had during protests. The community reigns them in very quickly.........which is good to see.

Where the real problem is these days is with the police force. There are good cops and bad cops. Unfortunately, there are too many of the latter and they are taking the law into their own hands, acting as judge and jury. The very idea that a man is taken into custody because he ran and ends up dead with a nearly severed spinal cord and crushed voice box is total and utter BS. The cops involved need to be charged with murder. This overreaction on the part of cops needs to change asap.

These riots are a result of his abject incompetence. Both in his own actions and in those of his former AG, who have fomented this black unrest since the early days of the Obama administration.

The country is more racially divided than it has been since Carter. Because at every chance, Obama stirs the pot of racial hatred.

This crap is on Obama. He is a racist and has been since his early days, when he had a racist rant outburst in the Henry Gates affair. I don't think he means to be, but neither does Tejek and still, he is a racist. Because all thought is in racist terms.

It is a tragedy for the country and in many ways a realization of the worst fears Americans had about the first black president. That he would use his blackness as a weapon of division. He has, and you guys are proof of it.
