o~~~ I always read ML, but "Markets are like Trees; They don't grow to the sky".??.. how quaint those ML folks are... and how original!! -- I doubt I've heard that more than, OH, 50-60 times!
Let's just theorize what happens when the interest rates drop to 5.5%, as ML predicts, and then long-term mortgage money becomes available around 6%... Surely we wouldn't have a real estate boom?!!
Probably a real recession? I don't think so, Moonray... They are just as wrong was Kurlak was when he downgraded MU three days ago...just ahead of a couple point rise <g>...
Hey, it's caution time, but the world doesn't end.. Next post -- how does this Japan thingie get resolved?? dlo

Moonray,

Isn't it great to be able to predict the future? I didn't know we had such talent on earth today. As for 6,000, BTDT just last October and it wasn't that bad but it's history for now, besides most tech investors have seen their stocks go down 40% already, so BTDT, too!

We agree on new highs.

RE: The Asians. I say better luck next time. This time we won! (Slow and steady wins the race, eh Addi?) If they play fair next time they might have a chance against our American companies.

That said, companies are like trees. Mr Gates' grew his to the sky and now they're trying to chop it down. Good luck to them and better luck to Bill!

Told ya I was the only bull left :)

E

o~~~ Now that the decline is absolutely clear to absolutely everybody, Lehman Bros comes out with this helpful ratings update as the sector is down, Oh, 40% or so?.. :http://biz.yahoo.com/finance/971219/research_alert_lehm_1.html
Like Silicon Valley lawyers, it seems that the purpose of "analysts" is to stride confidently onto the field, after the battle has produced a large number of casualties... And bayonet the wounded . Maybe that is helpful somehow?.. escapes me... TSO

I might have been tempted to believe this Macabe person if he hadn't said that. Trees do not grow to the sky? Where then?
