You asked what would be the point in building reservoirs in the past several decades in a response to a comment about people who've prevented those reservoirs from being constructed. Maybe you meant to say, "what is the point in bringing it up now." That should be obvious. The point in bringing it up now is to shine a light on those who prevented it. Maybe that is not what you meant but your meaning was not made clear for others from the start. <<"liberals have prevented the construction of a single new reservoir or a single new water conveyance system over decades">> What would be the point? The reservoirs you have are empty. The point being that we should model our water resource management practices around the worst case scenarios, especially in California where drought is predictable but also world wide. We should have done it in the past and it was prevented. Going forward we should be more responsible.

You do know that the water for Lake Mead does not come from Las Vegas, don't you? Do you think it flows backwards from the Pacific and desalinates itself? You libs need to get educated.

The way you mitigate water supply issues is to collect as much as you can while you can. And if your population doubles over 35 years but you do not increase your reservoir status then you are asking for trouble. Ca couldn't get its shit together to build reservoirs. So they created their own problem. This is not a difficult problem to understand.
