I asked an ORCL employee whether the Christmas story (i.e., no non-employee spouses) is true. His e-mail response:

"Yes,

Sadly, it is true. In fact, we are not having the extravagant affair which occupied the Fairmont hotel in years past. But this was a decision made before the stock went down. Consider it a friendly gesture to Oracle shareholders."

I'm not sure how far before the stock drop the decision was made, but it doesn't sound good.
