US Poised to Expand ISIS Fight WorldwideOfficials Say Escalation Needed to Placate Coalition Partners by Jason Ditz, April 29, 2015 Print This \| Share This The war against ISIS in Iraq and Syria isn’t exactly making headway, indeed it seems destined to be the latest open-ended military boondoggle in a long line for the US in that region. Still, that doesn’t mean the mess can’t get even bigger, and that’s exactly what’s likely to happen, according to officials familiar with the situation who say that the US is likely to agree to expand the ISIS war to include its assorted affiliates across the planet. Certain nations within the US coalition, primarily Egypt and Saudi Arabia, are demanding the war be expanded to other countries with ISIS presences as well, and US officials say that keeping those nations satisfied will virtually oblige the administration to accept the demands. Right now, the focus seems to be on getting the war expanded to Libya and to Egypt’s own Sinai Peninsula, where factions have pledged allegiance to ISIS and gained recruiting credibility as a result. These are far from the only ISIS affiliates abroad, however, with Nigeria’s Boko Haram noteworthy in having renamed itself ISWAP to reflect its new position as Islamic State West Africa Province. Lebanon, Yemen, Afghanistan, and Pakistan all also have meaningful ISIS presences. Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan are also struggling with ISIS attempting to set up shop there. The ISIS war isn’t going particularly well to start with, however, and the White House still hasn’t gotten it authorized by Congress. It seems like this would be a particularly difficult time to sell the idea of expanding it from two countries to a dozen or more.

I'm really concerned; my current exposure on stocks is a little higher than I'd like but returns on interest bearing interest aren't worth investing in. I'd be very worried for the next month or two. (If ) upcoming US indicators confirm an essentially stalled economy, I think it will finally become obvious that QE does not work to stimulate growth/spending anywhere. I could easily see a 20% or larger market correction........I don't have to be in the market and so will sit it out until things become clearer.

Most Americans would be shocked to learn that the Democrats still control the Senate even after Republicans won the majority last year, but it is true.

Breitbart News reports:

"With two minor exceptions, every single vote that has passed the U.S. Senate since the beginning of this Congress in January has passed with at least – usually more than – 93 percent of support from Democrats."

Despite controlling the Senate, Republican leaders are passing bills that have more support from Democrats than Republicans.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has helped the Democrats pass funding for executive amnesty, pass the budget-busting "doc fix", and confirm numerous liberal nominees including Loretta Lynch for Attorney General.

All of this has Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) cheering. His office praised McConnell for doing the "right thing" and said, "Democrats hope this trend will continue."

BAIT AND SWITCH

Americans voted to send more Republicans to Washington last year because they were promised that a new Republican majority in the Senate would stand up to President Obama and his agenda.

Senator McConnell vowed to repeal Obamacare root and branch, to use spending bills to defund bad policies, and to oppose any nominee for Attorney General who didn't oppose executive amnesty.

It was a bait and switch.

McConnell has given up on sending full Obamacare repeal to the president's desk, he's surrendered the power of the purse and voted to fund amnesty, and he helped confirm Loretta Lynch as Attorney General – someone who believes there are no limits on President Obama's power.

Sadly, Senator McConnell never intended to keep his promises.

Assistant Majority Leader John Cornyn (R-TX) openly admitted that the GOP establishment deceived voters. He said, "You gotta capture people's imagination – and I think that's what a lot of campaigning is about. And then you gotta get to the hard work of actually governing, which is sometimes a little different."

By "a little different" he means surrendering to the Democrats.

Please show the GOP establishment you're not going to be fooled anymore and make a contribution to SCF right now.

ELECT TRUE CONSERVATIVES

If we want to bring real change to Washington, we have to change the people we send there.

Over the past three elections, SCF and its grassroots supporters have elected many conservatives who are not going along with their spineless leaders.

Senator McConnell hopes that we will give up, but that isn't going to happen.
