Yeah, I'd just really have to take issue with that claim.

Southwest's fleet is 675 aircraft with another 250 on order.

United's fleet is 710 aircraft with about 200 on order.

Delta has 785 with about 200 of them leased.

American's bigger than all of them but still has a total of maybe 1200 aircraft in service and on-order.

So, SW is is in the ballpark with all but American. And Southwest is the only one of those that has been consistently profitable. Obviously, JB isn't in this ballpark but it still at least profitable most of the time.

I would say Southwest is the most important airline of the lot.

And I say you're an idiot. Typically, carrier size is determined by revenues, not equipment. A regional carrier could have as many planes as a major carrier. In fact until the past ten years, SW was a regional carrier. Its now gone pretty much national but doesn't go overseas like the major carriers.

In terms of revenues, last year, SW had $18 billion.......less than half of UAL's $38 billion, DAL's $40 billion and AAL's $42 billion. SW is not a major carrier.
