ahhaha.....I posted some time ago just before the break from the 50 day moving average that I was done trading.

Something like IE 4.0 was comming out and I wasn't betting my money against MicroSoft, plus when she dips below that 50 DMA she stays below it for months....history.

So between History and MicroSoft I wasn't going to play.

And if you go way back in the news, netscape said some big numbers were going to come out of communicator.......well I saw one press release about 10 million in 3 weeks or something.......but then they never followed thru.......which lead me to believe they weren't hitting the forcasted numbers.

They say it's not a browser game........OK, I'll give them that......but I don't entirely believe it either....It's an 'Eyeball' game.

As I see it they lost a big opportunity.........at one time they had 80% of those eyeballs.......(as users enter the information super highway)....they were hitting Netscapes' site. Then going to Yahoo!, Excite, Seek, Lycos to go searching....find something to do.

Now the latter has grabbed the eyeballs (us) away from Netscape...And It's eyeballs that flip pages.......buy things.....do thngs......can't make no money on the net unless you have people at your site. And that's why the 'search/internet media companies' are doing so well, they have the eyeballs, us!

Now none of this has held back MicroSoft.......They are playing the divide and conquer game......IMO.

While Netscape has given up on the 'eyeball game'......they've gone after the 4 search guys......with MSN....and their browser points into MicroSoft.com which is increasingly catching more & more eyeballs, becuase they have the beginnings of USEFUL content something to keep the focus of the eyeballs. YOU & ME.

BECAUSE LETS FACE IT.........IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW YOU GET ON, the information super highway, IT'S WHAT YOU DO, WHEN YOU GET ON!!!!!!!! WHAT YOU DO WHEN YOU GET ON IS PRIMARILY DETERMINED WHICH WAY YOU ARE POINTED AS YOU ENTER. FOCUS. AND THAT IS THE FUNCTION OF THE BROWSER. And that is exactly why Bill Gates and MicroSoft want that to become part of the OS.......so MS can control access to content & services........CONTROL THE EYEBALLS, THE HITS. own the damm thing, like they do the OS.

Netscape could be a gatekeeper, with useful content and services. But to be honest with you I don't see a reason to stick around their site........do you?

They should take an early lesson from MicroSoft.....play both ends against the middle.....divide and conquer.

SIMPLY PUT CONTROL THE EYEBALLS! BECAUSE THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT MICROSOFT IS TRYING TO DO!

If you had 2 gas stations in town, and one had gas, and the other didn't.........where would you go to fill up your car? It's so darn simple to me.

When they make the move I'm in.

I think you may want to ask the guys on this thread too:

Subject 5276

They have been keeping up with the latest news, and there are a lot of very sharp minds over there.
