...and I don't really think I should have to serve any minorities....

That's post #3 in less than 2 weeks from you that makes absolute sense. (you could have included faggots and muslim terrorists, but why push a good thing)

Maybe Jesus or George Bush has seen to your salvation after all?

How silly.

Silly is as silly does.

<<...No one should be compelled to participate in something that violates their conscience...>>

Paying taxes that support these idiotic foreign wars violates my conscience.

A conscience once went to the police station to report its violation.
"Who violated you?" asked the policeman.
"My ignorant beast master."
"And how do you know that it's ignorant?"
"I had to show it how to do it!"
(Bardi de Saldo)

That's how it works, people have free choice and when they screw up they feel a pang of conscientiousness for having violated their beliefs or values, giving them a nudge to make things better. The government should not be permitted to compel individuals to violate their own conscience because it takes that freedom away.

Sure there are a lot of things the government does with tax money which are insults to the dignity of any decent clear thinking person. Some things bother you, some bother other people but if the government were to stick to its primary role we would all be much better off. But then it would be reduced to a fraction of its current size.
