[oils for '98] Glen, I'm looking for the drillers/ oil service stocks to be one of the leaders in '98 also. There are sooooo many companies in these 2 groups with outstanding fundamentals, it's tough to pick favorites. Although my favorites this year were CDG, PDS, ESV, and NOI, I'm tending to watch the whole group for the technical strength standouts once they begin their recovery. They tend to move in such harmony (both up and down) that it's hard to make an "oops! wrong one" pick in these groups. I would second the vote for including at least one of these in a "model portfolio" for '98. Narrowing it to one might be tough (in my mind anyway). Technicals will be the deciding factor for me since the market doesn't seem to attach any discernable premium to superb versus extra-superb fundamentals. Earnings surprise trend seems to be an especially good gauge for these groups. How does EVI differentiate itself from the rest of the cream in your assessment?
