Actually, I'm pretty sure Dmitry knows he screwed the pooch on that particular "enhancement". How could he not? Unfortunately for him, he also screwed his credibility by refusing to listen to member input. The good news is he seems to be really reluctant to futz with further changes now that SI'ers thoroughly scorched his back side after that debacle.

If I was Dmitry, I would absolutely be embarrassed by the scrolling headlines feature. For instance, "Heron Therapeutics continues to soar" was true when it was posted yesterday, but the stock took a dive today. The world has moved on, but SI continues to post outdated news. That's truly pathetic for a company with the dubious brag of being the first internet company.

I just noticed some interesting things about five of the six bans Dmitry issued on the New Feature board. Those posters either received no other bans at all, or their other bans also came at the hands of the SI powers that wannabe. Furthermore, each of those five banned posters has an overwhelmingly positive "PeopleMarks" to "Ignored By" ratio so other SI members indicate they want to hear what the banned posters have to say. This is especially troubling since Dmitry stated only a short time before he issued the bans that he needed to develop "thicker skin". It can't be good for SI when its lead admin clearly demonstrates that he will resort to censorship rather than deal with his fragile ego.
