Could be an issue for remedy. prob that's why rmdy stock was down so much. i hate that - i bet some people knew and i bet they were shorting rmdy - those people should be in jail. probably not a major threat to vntv, but not helpful psychologically in an ugly market. td

Makes sense for Tivoli. Gives them a CIS app to compete for the help-desk market, against NETA and CA. Both of those have system management products, as well as CIS offerings (sort of). I imagine this will have more of an impact on the middle tier (ONYX, Magic Solutions, Peregrine etc.) than it will on Vantive/Scopus/Clarify. Expect more consolidation to happen in the next few months. Likely targets are probably ATEA, and some privately held companies.
