When I lived in Mississippi for a year in 7th grade, one of my teachers would read a bible passage to start class every day. I think it was just her, but the school knew and didn't do anything about it. I didn't care, myself.

I think there were only 2 teachers that I can remember reading from the Bible and that wasn't in an educational context I don't believe.

That was almost 60 years ago and I was only 6, 7, or 8 years old.

I'm sure they were the ONLY teachers to ever read from the Bible in a U.S. classroom and I'm sorry that I ever mentioned it......
