Horror injuries of Baltimore man, 61, after near fatal attack by pack of FIFTY teens, including girls, when he tried to break up a fight

Richard Fletcher brutally beaten by teens after asking girls to stop fighting

Fletcher suffered broken eye sockets, nose and ribs and had brain bleed

Out of hospital but his medical bills might be between $200,000-$400,000

Antoine Lawson charged with attempted murder and girl, 15, charged with assault

Police are still hoping to arrest the other teens involved in the beating

By Evan Bleier For Dailymail.com 12 May 2015

A 17-year-old boy has been charged as an adult for his role in beating a 61-year-old alongside a group of approximately 50 other teens in Baltimore, Maryland, on April 22.

Richard Fletcher was brutally beaten by the teens after he went outside to ask two girls who were fighting on top of his truck to move along and continue their dispute elsewhere.

The mob of teens began to hit and kick Fletcher until he fell to the ground, but the attack didn't end.

After the beating last month, Fletcher was left with broken eye sockets, a broken nose, broken ribs and a brain bleed, according to CBS Baltimore.

He also needed a blood transfusion.

Police have made two arrests in the case and are hoping to bring all of the teens, who are believed to be students at Baltimore Community High School, that participated in the beating to justice.

Antoine Lawson has already been charged with attempted murder and a 15-year-old girl was charged with assault.

Police and community members think the teens are students at nearby Baltimore Community High School

Joe Lamb, who owns a business nearby, saw the attack and said he wasn't all that surprised with what happened based on how the neighborhood has been, WBAL reported.

Antoine Lawson was charged with attempted murder

He said: 'It has gotten out of hand now, gone too far.

'The kids walk on top of cars, kick dogs, let dogs out, throw trash, steal milk from school and throw it at houses, threaten neighbors with bodily harm.'

Fletcher is out of the hospital and the Harbor View Neighborhood Association has opened a GoFundMe account to raise money for his medical bills.

The association wrote: 'Rick was brutally attacked by approximately 49 students from a near-by school on April 22.

'We are working closely with the family to assist them during this difficult time.

'We estimate his medical bills will be between $200,000-$400,000.

'His medical insurance will not pay for all of the bills.

'At this time, he is out of the hospital but he will need several additional surgeries. Rick has a long road to recovery.

'We do not expect the perpetrators will help him or his family pay for any of the medical expenses.

'Please donate to this very worthy cause , as Rick did not deserve this.'

The campaign has raised more than $8,000.

Until people stand up and fight back, these kinds of acts will continue. I wish the man had been a concealed carry person, and been able to protect himself.

Best steps for Americans: stay armed to protect yourselves from these beasts, avoid them and let them destroy themselves from within, as they are doing, and encourage and authorize law enforcement to use lethal force whenever and wherever justifiable.

Why did not any neighbors respond to help protect this man? How is it that people do not use firearms to protect themselves and others from these sorts of brutal attacks? I would think any number of houses in that area would have a shotgun.

How dare you. This is someone's father, grandfather, and husband. Have some respect for humanity. I'm sure your petty fight, showcased in the streets for all to see was necessary. smh

The parents of these kids need to be held responsible also.

Why is it at all relevant or ok to include the fact that girls participated in the attack? Why should that be at all surprising to the readers? It's EXTREMELY sexist and irrelevant to the story.

There is a shopping plaza in a nearby town. For the last year or so every single day after school a group of teenagers, mostly girls, go there and fight each other. Sometimes there are several hundred of them. They terrorize the people who are trying to shop there. Some of these shops close down for a few hours every day now. Meanwhile nothing seems to happen to them. I am not sure what the world is becoming, but it's not pretty.

Obama’s Middle East Debacle
......................................................................................................
Canada Free Press ^ | 05/12/15 | Al Caruba

You cannot make a greater mess of the mess that already exists in the Middle East, but Obama is doing his best to add to it. What else should we expect from a President who refuses to utter words like “Islamic terrorism”?

I had to laugh when I heard that the new King of Saudi Arabia, Salmon, told the White House he wasn’t going to attend Thursday’s photo-op get together of Arab leaders. Some lesser Saudi officials will attend. The message is clear enough, so long as Obama continues to make nice with Iran, the center of the problems in the Middle East, the Saudis and the others are going to be wary of any proposal that comes out of the White House.

As far as the Middle East is concerned, Obama seems to have no idea of the history or the dynamics that affect all the actions there. His Secretary of State, Kerry, is no better. He met with Arab officials last Friday and they told him they want a defense treaty in the event they were attacked by “external forces”, something that the Congress will not approve so long as Obama is in the White House.

One would think that any President at this point would have concluded that the Palestinians have no intention of signing onto a peace treaty with the Israelis.

Writing in The New York Times on May 8, Jonathan Schanzer, vice president of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, put it bluntly, “It doesn’t matter what these politicians think now or have said in in the past. Peace between Israel and the Palestinians is not happening in the next two years.” That’s how long we all have to wait until Obama leaves office.

Black Professor Regrets Comments Critical of White Students

.....................................................................................
ABC News ^ | May 12, 2015 | By PHILIP MARCELO

An incoming Boston University professor says she regrets racially charged tweets she made disparaging white men.

Black professor Saida Grundy called "white college males" a "problem population" in a Twitter account that's now private. She also declared "white masculinity is THE problem for America's colleges."

She says in a statement issued Tuesday she regrets that her passion led her to speak "indelicately."
