It's not "bait and switch" to offer a customer a different product, even a higher priced product. "Bait and Switch", or at least the negative connotation of it, comes about when the vendor does not have or will not sell the advertised product at the advertised price. I don't think that this is what is happening, although I did observe a p***** off customer at a Best Buy who couldn't get the advertised low cost computer the Friday after thanksgiving because they had sold their entire supply of twenty systems (as noted in the ad, "20 per store"). Nothing like waiting till 8:30 pm on the Friday after Thanksgiving for a limited supply one-day special.
