Racist Gambian Tyrant to Gays: “I Will Slit Your Throats”Posted by Jim Hoft on Wednesday, May 13, 2015, 9:55 AM

Don't you dare disrespect his religion.

Yahya Jammeh, Gambia’s President since 1994, warned Westerners that Satanic homosexuals who visit the nation will regret being born.

The Gambian leader last year told reporters, “And, we have to to be told by some British faggot…”

More recently Jammeh warned gays, “I will slit your throats!”
The Examiner reported, via Religion of Peace:

The West African country of Gambia has come under fire of late for its president’s remarks regarding homosexuality in the country, which has long been a dangerous place for homosexuals. In November, President Yahya Jammeh approved a law that would punish homosexuality with life in prison.

Vice News reported on Monday, May 11 that President (read: Dictator) Yahya Jammeh recently intensified his anti-homosexual stance by declaring that he would slit the throats of homosexual Gambian men. Jammeh punctuated his remarks saying, “If you are a man and want to marry another man in this country and we catch you, no one will ever set eyes on you again, and no white person can do anything about it.”

But Jammeh’s homophobic rhetoric dates back years, in fact many regard the Gambian President, who rose to power through a coup in 1994, as one of Africa’s most outspoken leaders against homosexuality. In January, the International Business Times reported that Jammeh said in a speech, “All empires before collapsed (sic) not at the time they were weakest, but at the peak of their might and when they equated themselves with the Almighty Allah. So this evil empire of homosexuals will also go down the dirty drain and garbage of hell.

Swedish Minister: Children Are Playing ISIS Game in PreschoolPosted by Jim Hoft on Wednesday, May 13, 2015, 7:49 AM

Kids in Sweden are playing the ISIS terrorist game in preschool.

The official Swedish coordinator against violent extremism is more worried today than a year ago. Children are playing the ISIS game in preschool.
Speisa reported:

I’m more worried today than I was a year ago, says Mona Sahlin.

Former Social Democrat party leader Mona Sahlin is Sweden’s official coordinator against violent extremism.

Mona Sahlin’s vision of Sweden has changed due to her mandate as the coordinator against violent extremism, she says in a stunning interview with the Swedish newspaper Expressen, where she admits that the Swedish immigration policy in general has failed.

– When I talk to a preschool teacher who says that kids at her kindergarten are playing ISIS outside, or when I hear about young people who ask: “Are you Sunni or Shia?”, then it has gone much further than I thought, she says.

Why has this trend been able to go under the radar?

– A large part of the authorities in Sweden have abdicated our suburbs. And we are also afraid to touch issues regarding religion. The debate stops because we are too ignorant and too cowardly to challenge the extreme interpretation of a religion that ISIS is based upon, and which also exists in our country.

How do you think that the Muslim community has handled the rejection of IS?

– Many disagree (with IS), but too few are engaged in the public debate. If it is a distorted view of Islam that allows young guys to travel to join IS, then the religious leaders must say so. They will hardly listen to me who wear sneakers and jeans.

You’ve had a long political career. Are you self-critical, – and for the Social Democrats – over how it has become?

– When it comes to the honor culture, I curse myself, the social democratic movement and society in general. It was an example of how we conscious chickened out of a discussion because we were afraid of being associated with the wrong debaters. And therefore we failed the vulnerable girls.

– Integration has also been a failure. There, the Socialist Party gave a picture of us, where we were so much more successful and skilled at countering both class inequalities and gender differences than we actually were. And it has hurt the integration debate very much.

Schadenfreude: Obama Sells Out the Environmentalists

Oscar Wilde wrote that “One must have a heart of stone to read the death of little Nell [in Uncle Tom’s Cabin The Old Curiosity Shop] without laughing.” That’s how I feel about this cri de coeur by environmentalist Bill McKibben in yesterday’s New York Times: “Obama’s Catastrophic Climate-Change Denial.” Et tu, Barack?
The Obama administration’s decision to give Shell Oil the go-ahead to drill in the Arctic shows why we may never win the fight against climate change. Even in this most extreme circumstance, no one seems able to stand up to the power of the fossil fuel industry. No one ever says no. …

Talk about salting wounds and adding insult to injury: It’s as if the tobacco companies were applying for permission to put cigarette machines in cancer wards.

And the White House gave Shell the license. In his first term, President Obama mostly ignored climate change, and he ran for re-election barely mentioning the subject until Hurricane Sandy made it unavoidable in the closing days of the campaign.

Obviously, “climate change” had nothing to do with Hurricane Sandy. Hurricane activity is at a historic low.
[Y]ou can’t deal with climate on the demand side alone. If we keep digging up more coal, gas and oil, it will get burned, if not here, then somewhere else. This is precisely the conclusion that a study in the journal Nature reached in January: If we’re to have any chance of meeting even Mr. Obama’s weak goal of holding temperature rise to 2 degrees Celsius, we have to leave most carbon underground. …

And yet Mr. Obama — acting on his own, since these are all executive actions requiring nothing from Congress — has opened huge swaths of the Powder River basin to new coal mining. He’s still studying whether to approve the Keystone XL pipeline, though the country’s leading climate scientists have all told him it would be a disaster. And now he’s given Shell the green light, meaning that, as with Keystone, it will be up to the environmental movement to block the plan (“kayaktivists” plan to gather this weekend in Seattle’s harbor, trying to prevent Shell from basing its Arctic rigs there).

It’s almost as if Obama didn’t mean what he said, but was just playing the environmentalists for fools.

This is not climate denial of the Republican sort, where people simply pretend the science isn’t real. This is climate denial of the status quo sort, where people accept the science, and indeed make long speeches about the immorality of passing on a ruined world to our children. They just deny the meaning of the science, which is that we must keep carbon in the ground.
I hate to be the one to break it to Mr. McKibben and others of his ilk, but no one is willing to sign up for poverty in order to combat global warming. The Chinese won’t do it, the Indians won’t do it, the Europeans won’t do it, and we won’t do it. Relatively cheap energy is the key to prosperity and human well-being. The global warming theories in which Mr. McKibben believes so fervently have been shot full of holes in theory, and proven wrong in practice. No one–not even Barack Obama–is going to drive America’s economy into the ditch to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by an amount that would have essentially zero impact on the climate, if the alarmists’ models were correct.

The real role that global warming plays on the Left is strictly rhetorical: it can be useful to beat up on Republicans. But the Democrats have no intention of doing anything material about the crisis they pretend to believe in.

UPDATE: Thanks to Rufus Frazier for the Old Curiosity Shop correction. It is Little Eva who dies in Uncle Tom’s Cabin. Little Eva is widely assumed to be modeled on Little Nell.
